Summer Reading Summary

"Tale of Two Cities" by Charles Dickens:
This novel is probably my favorite novel of all time (of the books that I have read)! The themes of love, sacrifice, and self-worth captured my attention from the very first page, until I read the last sentence. The setting of the French Revolution also intrigued me. The deception, passion, and unnatural rage were very artistically expressed by Dickens. I highly recommend this novel to you!

"Pilgrim's Progress" by John Bunyan:
I loathe this novel. Although Bunyan's overall theme has worth to all of his readers, his delivery is quite boring. This may be attributed to the fact that is was written in the late 1600's, but all the same, it was VERY boring. I found that Bunyan's theme of salvation and sacrifice was streched out. The entire novel could be simply put into about 3 paragraphs. I do not recommend this novel to you, at all!
